Velga’s STONE brushes for Procreate
Within this brush pack you'll get:
26 brushes for Procreate, designed to naturally add texture to your drawings that resemble metal & stone. Think iron, rocks, frozen steel, sandpaper, and space marine armour (inspired mostly by this one actually).
I must say that these brushes require drawing skills that are quite advanced, or for those of you who are aiming to reach that level. I spent a couple of years drawing with these brushes, and now they are at a quality that is perfect for everybody else to use. A lot of them work like palette knives, with how they rotate depending on how you hold your apple pencil. This works with all iPads and apple pencils, although I can't confirm if this works even better with the newer, pro apple pencils. I own the regular 2nd gen one, and these brushes already draw perfectly with it, so that's my take on apple pencils.
These work fantastic with gradient maps, which is a Procreate feature I recommend you guys use if you're still learning. You can see some artwork of mine I've made using these brushes on my YouTube channel:
If I could point out some that I think would help you greatly in making beautiful art. It would be these:
Stone 1 - works well for any kind of drawing, from characters to environments. Makes shading & silhouette drawing very easy.
Stone 1 Random - perfect for drawing silhouettes of tree leaves, because each time you lay down a stroke it would be at a new random angle.
Stone 3 Random - same as the above, but since it's more square in shape, this would work very well for drawing vines, cables, and metallic flourishing. This also works very well if you use it like you would normally use a basic round brush.
Cracks & Crevices - one stroke of this is all you need to make it look like there's a crack!
Any of the hair brushes - just try to make a silhouette of someone's hair with these. They work great!
I hope you enjoy, and have fun drawing!
Your happy artist,
Velga
